Meet The Chef

Born and raised in New Orleans, Chef Rommel was primarily influenced by his Spanish heritage to begin his culinary career as a chef. Rommel, the executive chef and owner of Rommel’s Catering, loved cooking and started working in the food industry at a young age. Joining the Navy at 17, Rommel learned the importance of hard work and dedication. After completing his military service, he returned to New Orleans to begin what he loved best: cooking. He soon attended Delgado Culinary School and began working for several hotels and restaurants such as the Windsor Court, Intercontinental, and Mr. B’s. He soon ventured out to Chicago, Illinois, to begin working for Lettuce Entertain You Corporation. Ultimately, he moved back to New Orleans due to his love for the city and started his own business. At the start of his business, he catered boxed lunches and dinners, which eventually progressed into the successful business it is today. His delicious box lunches and small events eventually got him noticed by many people, which allowed him to transition into the large corporate and national events that he is known for today.
